Creating Value from our Trees
Salamuun Alaikum.
We are requesting volunteers for this weekend (Saturday Aug 6th and Sunday Aug 7th) to assist in the work of cutting our logs into useable lumber. We have about 45 logs which we will be cutting into lumber of various sizes. This lumber will be either used in later Peace Centre construction projects or it will be sold to pay for improvements.
We have a man with a portable saw mill who is expected to be here both Saturday and Sunday to cut the lumber for us. We are requesting to have at least 4 volunteers to help move the cut lumber from the mill to drying racks that we will be using.
We will establish 4 shifts of 4 hours each, Shift 1 = 8:00AM - noon on Saturday
Shift 2 = noon to 4:00PM on Saturday
Shift 3 = 8:00AM to noon on Sunday
Shift 4 = noon to 4:00PM on Sunday
Please indicate which shift you are able and willing to attend.
Please consider signing up for 1 or more shifts.
The more people we have for each shift, the better. A lot of people means less work for everyone.
Also, please show up rain or shine since we do not know under what conditions the sawyer will or will not be able to operate his machine..
